JAMMU, June 27: Decomposed body of a male was recovered from river Tawi.
As per police sources, decomposed body of male identified as Mohammad Younis, son of Abdul Rashid, a resident of Belicharana District Jammu was found in river Tawi by some passerby, who informed the police.
On getting information, a team from Police Station Nowabad led by SHO Inspector Vijay Sharma rushed to the spot and shifted the body to mortuary of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). He was missing from the past few days.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
Meanwhile, the family members alleged that the deceased has been murdered and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
However, inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC have been initiated by Nowabad Police to ascertain the cause of the death.
