JAMMU, Nov 15: National Panthers Party has strongly flayed the Government for its failure to ensure proper traffic management in Jammu city and stressed the need to take up pending fly-over projects on priority to reduce traffic load at certain city points here.
In a press statement here today chairman of the party, Hareshdev Singh, MLA said that people of the city are facing great inconvenience and hardships. The children and Government servants get trapped in the traffic jams for long and are unable to reach in time at their respective places. The traffic cops have failed to regulate traffic and they are not even properly deployed. The seniors are least bothered to check their effectiveness and also lack proper monitoring.
Mr Singh said that increased traffic on city roads in the recent past coupled with the additional load that has hit the Jammu roads due to Darbar Move, has aggravated the traffic problems. Even the light vehicles take hours to reach from one point to another. Rapping the Government for its despicable apathy and criminal neglect in expanding road network and provisions of much publicized new fly-overs, NPP leader called upon the Jammu based Ministers to wake up from their deep slumber and assert in the face of growing public concern.
NPP leader called for early commencement of construction work on fly-overs from Bikram Chowk to Rehari, Ambphalla to Janipur, Jewel Chowk to Canal Road , Balwinder Chowk to Rehari and Gandhinagar to Narwal, besides other areas in view of massive traffic problem. He also demanded immediate shifting of Bus Stands from existing point to the other sites already identified and constructed for the purpose and remove all wrong parking at B C Road, K C Chowk and also at points where traffic congestion has hit much to the general public.
