This has reference to the news item ‘Steps afoot to de-congest traffic in Jammu city’ DE Aug 28.
The slew of measures that have been taken to de-congest Jammu city need to be implemented sincerely and in a time bound manner. Rather these measures should be completed before the term of the present coalition Government comes to end.
The people of the city particularly those living in old Jammu city like Purani Mandi, Rajinder Bazar suffer a lot. The residents can’t walk smoothly through the lanes and by lanes of the city. Since these have been encroached by rehriwallas and vendors, there is no room left for smooth movement of people.
The newly constructed Bus-stands need to be operationalized without any further delay as there is so much chaos on Jammu roads these days. Now, when the winter Secretariat will start functioning it will add further burden on Jammu roads.
