JAMMU, Nov 16: The Home Department of J&K Government has today ordered deduction from the pension of a retired Deputy SP for violation of J&K Government Employees (Conduct) Rules.
The retired Deputy SP, Sudershan Mehta had accepted the full time assignment of Joint Secretary of J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) in different spells between 2003 to 2016, without seeking prior permission of the Government as was required under rules and for drawing remuneration from JKCA at the same time he was drawing salary from the Government exchequer as a Police Officer.
After conducting an inquiry in this regard the report was placed before the competent authority which after taking into account all the facts related to the case concluded that the amount which Mehta drew as remuneration from JKCA should be recovered from his pension.
The Home Department ordered the Financial Advisor/ Chief Accounts Officers, PHQ J&K to take necessary steps to ensure deduction from the pension of the retired officer.
