Pune Sep 28 : Deepak Karandikar took over as the President of the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture, Pune for the years 2022-2024 in its 88th Annual General Meeting held here Wednesday. Deepak Karandikar is associated with Chamber for over 14 years. He is presently the Vice President as well as the Chairman of the MSME Committee. He has been very active as Committee Chairpersons at the Chamber. During his tenure as a Committee Chairman, he worked relentlessly for the betterment of the MSMEs in the region. An example of his contributions is successful execution of the Lean Manufacturing Clusters, launched by the Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India. About 130 MSMEs were directly benefited in terms of achieving the manufacturing excellence with direct positive impact on their bottom line. Karandikar has also been a substantive contributor in building institutions like National Agriculture and Food Analysis and Research Institute (NAFARI), Auto Cluster Development & Research Institute Ltd. (ACDRIL) and MCCIA Electronic Cluster Foundation (MECF). He has done several representations to the Government in the Ease of Doing Business area and engaged with Ministers and Senior Officers to follow up on the representations. He is presently working on projects like establishment of a Common Effluent Treatment Plant for the polluting industrial units from PCMC area, establishment of a Solar Park for the benefit of MSMEs and is also helping MSMEs in finding out Global business opportunities.
