9 police officers get DIG grade, one gets ST Scale

JAMMU, Dec 28: Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, today ordered promotion of 1993 batch Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre IPS officer Deepak Kumar to the grade of Director General of Police (DGP). The officer has been promoted with effect from January 1, 2024 or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is earlier.
The MHA also promoted IPS officers Anand Jain and Nitish Kumar to the grade of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) with effect from January 1, 2024 or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is earlier. While IPS officer Vikramjit Singh has been granted the IGP grade, nine other police officers have been promoted to the DIG grade, and one officer has been promoted to the Senior Time Scale.
An order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs in this context read, “in pursuance to the recommendations of the screening committee held on December 20, 2023, Deepak Kumar, currently posted in the cadre, is hereby promoted to the DGP Grade with effect from January 1, 2024 or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is earlier.”
Another order read, “in pursuance to the recommendations of the screening committee in its meeting held on December 20, 2023, Anand Jain, IGP Jammu and Nitish Kumar, IGP CID, currently posted in the cadre, are hereby promoted to the ADGP Grade with effect from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is earlier.”
“In pursuance to the recommendations of the Screening Committee in its meeting held on December 20, 2023, Vikramjit Singh has been promoted to the IGP Cadre, with effect from January 1, 2024 or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is later” the MHA said in another order.
Meanwhile, the MHA has ordered the promotion of nine IPS officers to the DIG grade.
While IPS officers Shakti Kumar Pathak, Dr Mohammad Haseeb Mughal, Javid Ahmed Koul, Sheikh Junaid Mehmood and Shahid Mehraj Rather have been promoted with effect from the date of assumption of the charge IPS officers Rayees Mohammad Bhat, Patil Shridhar Daulu, Dr Ajeet Singh and Altaf Ahmed Khan have been promoted with effect from January 1, 2024 or with effect from the date of assumption of the charge, whichever is earlier.
Further, with the approval of the competent authority, the MHA has also ordered the promotion of IPS officer Shree Raam R to the Senior Time Scale.
