NAGROTA Oct 20: Calling for strengthening the bonds of amity and working towards achieving the objective of social empowerment, Former MLA and BJP leader Devender Singh Rana today said that this will be biggest tribute to Maha Kavi Valmikiji.
“Best way of remembering the great saint Valmiki would be to take a pledge to tread the path shown by him and work for the growth of harmonious society where people, irrespective of caste, creed or colour live a dignified life based on the well defined principles of humanity”, Rana said at a function held held to celebrate the Valmiki Jayanti, at Dhokwaziran in Nagrota Assembly Constituency.
He said that great saints and sages have blessed humanity with their eternal message of peace, harmony, love and compassion that has helped the society to steer to light from the dark tunnel of ignorance and selfishness.
Describing Adi Kavi Valmikiji as an epitome of righteousness, Devender Rana that his great work on the life of Lord Rama in verse will continue to guide humanity till eternity and help society to overcome the malice of hate. Those inspired by Ramayana can never do injustice with fellow beings or tolerate injustice. He lauded the organizers for holding a befitting function in remembrance of the great epic poet and said this is because of the inspiration from Ramayana that youth in particular remain in the forefront in spreading the message of truth and righteousness through various modes.
He referred to the eternal message sent out by Maha Kavi on good over evil has more relevance in present times than ever before. The best way of celebrating such occasions is to stand for truth and promote harmony in the society.
Extending his good wishes to the people on the auspicious occasion, the former MLA said, “Let us seek the blessings of Maharishi Valmiki to find the purpose of existence and contribute to the society by good deeds to make this world a best place to live in.
The function was organized by the Valmiki Committee, Dhokwaziran, led by Sarpanch Dhok Waziran Raman Wazir, Suresh Kumar, Raj Kumar, Bittu, Rahul Kumar, Avinash and Ashok Kumar.
