DODA, Nov 23: Launching a scathing attack on those parties who claim that Congress has become irrelevant in J&K, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today said that he cannot help people who have decided to day-dream and rest in the bliss of self-proclaimed beliefs and notions.
“Some parties are proclaiming to have 44+, others are distributing portfolios, and we are going to the people with our agenda of development, equity and justice. People cannot be taken for granted as it is the people who are the real fountainhead of power, and not the self-proclaiming parties”, said Azad.
Azad said that people of the State are going to outrightly reject all these self-proclaiming and arrogant political parties who are taking people for granted, as they have decided to give a decisive mandate to the Congress party to return an era of fast-paced growth, infrastructure building and development.
Brimming with confidence on the basis of overwhelming response and enthusiasm of people all across the State going to poll in the first phase, Azad said that he is fully confident that Congress Party will belie the hopes of all the so-called experts, pundits and prophets of doom.
“We never transported crowds from outside in our meetings, but the way people have given me affection right from Ladakh to Gurez to Chenab Valley, Congress Party will emerge victorious in the all the phases of elections “, said Azad.
Azas was on a campaign trail in various parts of Chenab Valley to wind up the canvassing for the first phase. Accompanied by Mohammad Sharief Niaz G M Saroori, Ashok Kumar Dogra, Naresh Gupta, Aslam Goni, P R Manhas, he addressed hugely attended public meetings at Thathri, Breswana, Haala, Balihote, Gundoh and Bhalla in Ramban, Doda, Bhaderwah and Inderwal Constituencies to garner support for the candidates of Congress Party.
Raising a strong pitch in support of the candidates of Congress Party, Azad said that Congress Party alone has worked untiringly for the upliftment and progress of remote and far flung areas like Ladakh, Gurez, Tangdhar, Reasi, Bani Basohli, Billawar, Pir Panjal and Chenab Valley, and that the performance of two and half years of Congress-led Government outcompetes all other parties in carrying out developmental activities of the State.
Azad said that Congress-led Government in a short span of two and half years left an indelible imprint on the political and developmental landscape of the State and made a successful bid to address the aspirations and urges of all regions and sections of the society with fairness, equity and justice.
Azad said that Congress-led regime of two and a half years outcompetes all political parties who have ruled the State of Jammu & Kashmir in the past few decades and the people of the State have decided to give a decisive mandate to Congress Party to script a new chapter of hope, prosperity and optimism in the State.
“I assure the people that we will give a credible and effective government having capacity and ability to deliver on the promise of progress and developmentas also ensure justice and fair reatment of all regions and sections of the State”, said Azad.
Urging the farsighted and intelligent people of Chenab Valley to defeat the nefarious designs of the divisive and exploitative forces, Azad said that these mischievous elements are trying to divide your strength and sabotage the developmental activities in the Chenab Valley.
“I know that RSS workers are working tirelessly in the dead of night to spread hatred and divide the people while during the day, BJP and its leaders are tom-tomming the so-called bait of “Vikas” to befool and mislead”, said Azad.
