JAMMU, Mar 1: Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today described the delaying tactics of PDP and BJP in respect of forming of popular Government on one or other frivolous pretext as unwarranted and unjustified.
He said that political gimmicks of these parties has led to demeaning of the democratic institutions and set a wrong precedent for future generations to come. He said PDP and BJP are befooling the common masses only to achieve their respective political goals and settle their internal differences. Terming the alliance of BJP and PDP as unnatural and unholy in political arena, former Minister said, present political positions and compulsions of these parties has now substantiated the terminology of unnatural and unholy, used for this alliance. He said that PDP and BJP despite enjoying the vote and mandate of electorate have failed to come up to the expectations and failed the innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Vakil was addressing a meeting of his supporters at Gandhi Nagar Jammu today. He said that delay in formation of the popular Government has halted and jeopardized the development, prosperity as well as peace initiatives in the J&K.
Vakil appealed the Governor to set a firm deadline for these parties to form the Government and in case they fail to do so dissolve the Assembly.
He also expressed surprise and concern that how political appointees and nominations like Chairman and Vice Chairman of different boards continue although the Governor has already directed them to resign from their posts in these institutions but it is surprising that political appointees of these boards have ignored directions. He said that continuation of such appointees is an unnecessary burden on State exchequer, which is already in doldrums.
He also appealed the Governor to direct the field administration to be extra sensitive in dealing Samba type issues and don’t allow the situation to become advantageous for subversive elements, who are hell bent to stoke communal controversies in the State.
