JAMMU, Feb 9: A deputation of Mechanical Engineering fraternity headed by president of Jammu and Kashmir Mechanical Graduates Association (JKMEGA), Er Firdous Ahmad Bhat today met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti at her official residence for redressal of long pending issues pertaining to engineering fraternity in general and mechanical in particular.
The delegation apprised the Chief Minister about the long pending issues faced by the engineering community (Civil, Electrical & Mechanical) including regularization/confirmation at all levels, approval of running grades as per Assured Career Progression (ACP), Pay anomaly of Junior Engineers, enhancement in FTA, etc.
The CM was also apprised about the need of separate Hydraulic Chief Engineer, expansion and creation of Mechanical Divisions/Sub-Division in MED, PHE, I&FC and other departments for effective governance and better public deliverance and requested for final clearance to already two proposed Mughal Road Mechanical Engineering Divisions at Poonch and Shopian.
The delegation also apprised the CM about the scope of Mechanical engineering in Disaster Management Department, JKPDC, JKPCC, Horticulture, Agriculture, Tourism, Hospitals and pleaded her for revival of posts and utilization of mechanical technocrats in these departments/ fields for better development and prosperity of J&K as per the mechanization of world is concerned.
The CM was requested to revive Stores Procurement Department and allocate funds under suspense/floater basis so that the balance available of the lying departments can be put to use for faster development of the State.
Mehbooba gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that the proposal submitted and issues highlighted by it will be given due consideration.
