Delegation meets JU VC

JAMMU, Dec 21: A delegation led by Avinash Choudhary, Chairman of the Border Welfare Organization and a resident of the Boys Hostel, met with Prof Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University of Jammu (JU) and discussed with him recent steps taken to enhance accessibility of Boys Hostel for specially-abled students .
The delegation underscored VC’s notable contributions to student welfare and inclusivity at the University. It took the opportunity to discuss their vision for the Boys Hostel, acknowledging Vice Chancellor’s steadfast commitment to improving infrastructure of the Hostel and ensuring a supportive living environment for its residents.
A particular highlight of their discussion was the recent steps taken to enhance accessibility for specially-abled students. The delegation members said that Prof Rai’s approval of modifications to the Hostel premises to enable smooth and unrestricted mobility for these students reflects the University’s progressive stance on inclusivity and equal opportunities.
Prof Rai reassured the delegation of the University’s dedication to fostering an environment conducive to academic and personal growth. He reiterated his resolve to prioritize student welfare and infrastructural development, aligning with the broader goals of the institution.
