LEH, Sept 23: A delegation of apex body of Peoples Movement for Sixth Schedule for Ladakh today met Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh R K Mathur at Raj Niwas and submitted him a memorandum of demands.
The delegation comprising Skyabje Thiksey Rinpoche, Ex-Rajya Sabha Member, Thupstan Chhewang, Ex-MP Lok Sabha and Chhering Dorjey Lakrook, Ex-Minister presented a memorandum addressed to the Lt Governor and another addressed to the Prime Minister demanding recognition under the Sixth Schedule for Ladakh
They also apprised the LG of their decision to boycott the 6th LAHDC Leh election. They assured to peacefully follow all democratic as well as COVID-19 norms in their activities.
The Lt Governor assured the delegation members that their representation will be referred to the Government of India.
