JAMMU, July 30: A delegation of Health and Medical Cell (H&MC) of J&K BJP led by convener Puneet Mahajan today met newly appointed Principal of Government Medical College Jammu, Dr Ashutosh Gupta and project various issues concerning the patients visiting the Hospital.
Puneet Mahajan was accompanied by State co-convener Mohd Javed, State executive member Pawan Choudhary, District Jammu convener Advocate Sudesh Sharma and co-conveners Narinder Singh, Arun Sharma and Surindar Ghai.
The delegation members had a detailed interaction with Dr Ashutosh Gupta wherein they projected several demands and issues of public importance viz a viz availability of Senior Consultants round the clock for the specialized treatment of the patients admitted in emergency, increasing the number of doctors and paramedical staff, availability of life saving drugs and other medical equipments in emergency section, extending the emergency area, improving sanitation, availability of Blood Bank and laboratory services, etc.
The Principal was requested to increase the staff dealing with offline registration of the visiting patients in the OPDs since the registration process is now online and most of the patients visiting the hospital are poor who neither afford nor even know how to operate these modern gadgets (smart phones). They also laid emphasis on the availability of second Ultrasound Machine in emergency block.
The delegation members stressed on the necessity of covering the Alcoholic Liver disease, Injection Albumin, Multifracture Cases and many other serious diseases under PMJAY Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
Dr Ashutosh Gupta sought the cooperation of Health and Medical Cell of BJP in identification of volunteers who can work collectively as a bridge between the patients and the Medical College staff for implementation of different Government sponsored schemes and spread awareness among the public and patients regarding the same.
