JAMMU, Feb 16: Border Welfare Organisation Chairman Avinash Choudhary, along with other members, met with the Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and highlighted the issues of border areas before him.
Avinash Choudhary informed the Chief Secretary that reservation for border areas has not been implemented at the ground level because of the un-necessary formalities such as economic conditions. He alleged that some officers in the Jammu and Kashmir Government were deliberately creating hurdles in implementation of the scheme for border people.
Social activist Parvinder Singh Happy appealed the Chief Secretary to look into the matter and ensure inclusion of all eligible villages in this reservation list. He also urged the Chief Secretary for his personal intervention regarding the construction of proposed sub-district hospital at Sainik Colony Jammu where in land was also purchased by Sainik Colony Society and given to the Health & Medical Education Department for the purpose so that the locals may avail medical facilities as soon as possible.
After listening to Avinash Choudhary & Parvinder Singh, the Chief Secretary assured that he would forward their issues to the concerned departments for necessary action as soon as possible.
