SAMBA, Dec 19: In order to acquaint themselves with the modern technology of crops, a delegation of farmers from district Samba went to Palampur for five days tour today. The tour of farmers was organized by Agriculture Department. Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rohit Khajuria flagged off the delegation d at district Headquarters Nandini Hills, Samba while the District Chief Agriculture Officer, Jahangir Shafi, Sub-Division Officer, Tilak Raj Sharma, SMS Dr. Adil Rashid, AEO Rajupra, RP Singh, AEO Gurdeep Singh were also present on the occasion.

Farmers will get the knowhow about the latest techniques of agriculture during a five-day visit to Palampur in Himachal Pradesh. On this occasion, farmers will get information about the modern techniques being used in the agricultural sector by the Palampur Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya. By acquiring knowledge of those techniques farmers will use the same techniques in their area so that agricultural production can get a boost. During the tour farmers will also visit Paddy and Wheat Research Station and get more information about new varieties of paddy and wheat.
