Delegation of J&K unaided private colleges meeting Union HRD Minister Pallam Raju at New Delhi on Wednesday.

JAMMU, Mar 13: A joint delegation of Kashmir Un-Aided private colleges Association Srinagar and Forum of Recognized Colleges of Education, Jammu met the Union Minister for HRD, Pallam Raju at New Delhi and apprised him of their issues.
The issue under discussion was NCTE Act and its application to J&K State. The delegation apprised the Minister about the fact that J&K State is exempted from NCTE by Act of Parliament and as such no NCTE Regulation like TET is applicable to J&K State. Since Parliament in all her wisdom has exempted J and K State from NCTE, it is the  duty of the Union Administration to see that this decision of the Parliament is upheld and no insistence is made for the J and K students to appear in TET Test..
Maintaining that if TET is scrapped in favour of J&K State, it would not be admissible, the Minister however assured the delegation that the request would be examined and necessary steps would be taken in the interest of Private Un-Aided Colleges and the students studying in these colleges without lowering the academic standards.
The delegation consisted of 11 members namely R S Chib,  Prof  C L Vishan,  M S Katoch,  G N Parray,  Iqbal Beg, Dr  Sunil Kumar, Dr  Vinode Vishan,  Saiffudin Bhat,  Rahul Kapoor,  Kuldip Wahi, Dr  Vikram Handa and  Rajesh Sharma.
