JAMMU, Dec 6: To address the issues hindering industrial growth in Jammu and Kashmir, a delegation of Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB) calls upon recently appointed Chief Secretary J&K Atal Dulloo here today.
The members of delegation led by President, LUB, Parveen Pargal also extend their warm wishes for his assignment as Chief Secretary.
Parveen Pargal apprised CS their concerns include the delayed development of new Industrial Estates, pending land possession for allottees since 2021, and limited availability of land types for development.
The delegation emphasizes the pivotal role of private players in accelerating industrial estate development, urging the authorization of Change of Land Use (CLU) for various land types.
He added that with the impending policy deadline of September 30, 2024, the delegation requests an extension, highlighting investor anxiety and the need for timely handling. They propose waiving stamp duty for private industrial parks and industrial plot purchases, aiming to boost private sector involvement.
Additionally, the delegation advocates for the removal of a 5% transfer fee on changing land use, fostering collaboration between private developers and investors.
Pargal urges for urgent action to address these issues, facilitating a conducive environment for industrial growth in Jammu & Kashmir.
CS, Atal Dulloo heard the delegation very patiently and assured the necessary measures and immediate steps required to boost the functioning of Industrial Units in J&K will be taken at the earliest.
On the occasion, Vice Presidents Adv. Ishant Gupta and Mukul Gupta, Secretary Aagam Jain and Special Member Dinesh Gupta were also present.
