JAMMU, Nov 9: A delegation of Hindus from district Shopian led by president Managing Committee of Tirath Raj Kapal Mochan Shrines and temples of the District Shopian called on Minister of Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla here today and voiced concern over the false and illegal claim made by Education Department (Sarava Shiksha Abyan) over the land of this world famous Hindu Shrine.
The delegation informed the Minister that the issue is related to the faith of Hindus in general and that of the Shopian district in particular and its encroachment will lead to serious consequences.
The delegation also told Minister that the ill-advised move of the Department of the State Government to encroach the land of a shrine goes against the proclaimed intensions of the State Government to rehabilitate the Hindus back in Kashmir valley.
Mr Bhalla assured the delegation that necessary steps will be taken by the state administration to protect and preserve the properties belonging to the Kapal Mochan shrine and ensure safe and dignified return of the displaced community.
