JAMMU, July 18: A delegation of Traders Federation Ware House Nehru Market led by Deepak Gupta, Federation president here today met Manhar Gupta, Chief Engineer PDD and discussed the problems being faced by the traders of Jammu because of unscheduled power cuts in Ware House Nehru Market area.
Deepak Gupta submitted a memorandum to the CE highlighting the problems being faced by the traders due to power cuts.
He apprised the Chief Engineer that every year crores of rupees as tax are paid by the traders of Ware House and entire J&K is dependent on Ware House Nehru Market for the supply of essential commodities.
“The present scenario of power supply is quite unfortunate in Ware House area despite the latest smart meters are installed here,” the Federation president maintained adding: “Despite the installation of these smart meters, traders are daily facing power cuts of 5-6 hours.”
He apprised the Chief Engineer that presently all the business transactions are done through computers and because of long power cuts traders are unable to generate e-way bills and e-invoice which is badly affecting their business.
“We fear that in coming days the ration supply may be affected in different districts of J&K if the power scenario remains unchanged,” Deepak Gupta continued appealing the Chief Engineer to ensure regular power supply in Ware House area from 10 am to 8 pm for the smooth conduct of business activities.
The Chief Engineer assured the delegation that the problem will be resolved and uninterrupted power supply will be provided to the business establishments.
Munish Mahajan, senior vice president; Abhimanyu Gupta, vice president; Vishal Gupta, secretary of Federation and others were also present in the delegation.
