Delegations call on Khatana, highlight demands

JAMMU, Apr 24: A large number of delegations today called on BJP MP Rajya Sabha, Gulam Ali Khatana and highlighted their demands before him.
A delegation of nomadic Gujjars/Bakkerwals today apprised MP Gulam Ali about the inability of the district Jammu administration to provide them vehicles for transportation of live stocks. They alleged that district administration has adopted no criteria for providing vehicles to the really poor nomadic population.
MP Gulam Ali called upon the district administration to formulate a uniform and justifiable policy for providing the vehicles to nomads.
A delegation from district Kathua led by Ali Mohammad Chechi called on MP Gulam Ali and apprised him about the scarcity of drinking water in district Kathua. He said that with the onset of Summer drinking water scarcity has hit the area.
MP Gulam Ali asked the district administration and Jal Shakti Department to meet the demand of water supply and deploy adequate tankers for meeting the demand of potable water.
BJP district secretary, ST Morcha Rajouri Shoket Ali Khatana called on MP and highlighted various issues as sanctioning of hand pump at Challas and road from Challas to Pervaz Mohalla and other various issues of Gujjar Bakkerwal community.
