LEH, May 30: Nambardar, Thasgam, Ghulam Hussain, called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, at Raj Niwas today.
Nambardar Thasgam raised several issues related to the development of Thasgam in Drass sub-division, viz. changing the alignment of the bandobasti/settlement land to be used for the construction of the national highway; sanctioning of a Government Higher Secondary School for the village; developing sports infrastructure such as ice hockey rink and gondola in the village; setting up a branch of a major bank along with ATM facilities; launching of a special army recruitment drive for the unemployed youth from Drass sub-division; a dedicated bus service for the people between Kargil and Thasgam; operation of RTC bus service at regular intervals; upgradation of the Medical Sub Center to Community Health Center (CHC); installation of mobile towers to improve telecommunication and internet connectivity; construction of an irrigation khul, etc.
A delegation from the Sunni community led by Vice-President, BJP Ladakh, Nazir Ahmed, raised the need for the representation of Sunni community at Hill Council Leh for the benefit of their people.
