LEH, Nov 5: A delegation from Bogdang led by Nambardar, Bogdang, Mohd Mussa called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Retd) Dr BD Mishra, at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat.
Advisor to the LG, Dr Pawan Kotwal; Commissioner/ Secretary, Dr Vasanthakumar N; Commissioner/ Secretary to the LG, Dr L Franklin and Secretary, GAD, Michael D’Souza, were present in the meeting.
Mussa requested for the LG’s intervention in granting Special Sub-Division status to Bogdang, the largest village in Chorbat Valley which comprises nine villages, to expedite developmental works.
The LG stated that he would take up the matter of creating the subdivision in the newly announced Nubra district with the Ministry of Home Affairs for their due consideration.
Mohd Ali from Tambis, Kargil, also called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh and requested for the LG’s intervention in repatriating 17 employees currently working at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in UT Jammu and Kashmir to UT Ladakh.
Dr Vasanthakumar and Michael D’Souza informed the LG that SKIMS is a society and Ali and others working at SKIMS are not Government employees due to which they can only be placed at the disposal of SIDCO and not in any Government institute due to the unavailability of a medical society in Ladakh. They also informed the LG that the repatriation of employees of Ladakh currently working in corporations and societies in J&K would be taken up with the Chief Secretary of UT J&K in a meeting to be held soon.
The LG asked Ali to wait for the decision from the Administration of UT J&K and meet him after two months in this regard.
