Delhi HC disposes off petition on Jammu man’s missing case

JAMMU, Nov 7: Delhi High Court has disposed off a petition seeking investigation into disappearance of a Jammu-based man in Bihar.
After hearing counsels for the petitioner and respondents, a bench of the High Court observed, “in the status report the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit Crime Branch has submitted that Special Investigation Team has been constituted to conduct the investigation in the case and efforts are being made actively to proceed with the investigation regarding Rakesh Gupta, the husband of the petitioner having gone missing since March 6, 2016”.
“The court feels that no further directions are called for in the petition except recording the assurance of the Crime Branch that the SIT will leave no stone unturned in investigating the complaint of the petitioner”, the bench said while disposing off the petition.
However, the High Court said that in the event the petitioner at any point of time apprehends that the investigation is not proceeding in accordance with law it will be open to her to seek appropriate remedies in accordance with law.
Meanwhile, Naresh Gupta said that he and his family is extending required cooperation to all the concerned persons particularly the Crime Branch in tracing Rakesh Gupta.
