NEW DELHI, Apr 17: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh said here that Delhi will vote rising above caste and religion, to give an overwhelming mandate to BJP in the Municipal Corporation Delhi (MCD) poll to be held on 23rd of this month.
Addressing a series of public meetings in Kardampuri Ward and other places in Babarpur Assembly constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh said, gone are the days when voter would get swayed in the name of caste, creed, religion and other considerations, and cast his mandate accordingly. He said, today, with over 65% population below the age of 40 years and youth comprising a major chunk of voters, there is much more awareness and discretion to cast the vote for a leadership that can ensure development, progress and growth without any discrimination or prejudice.
With Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the helm of affairs and Amit Shah heading the organisation, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the message is loud and clear that it is only a BJP led dispensation which can deliver and do justice, whether it is the local body or State Assembly or Parliament. He said, the people of Delhi have also realised that a BJP led Municipal Corporation in Delhi was unable to fulfill many of its commitments because of lack of cooperation from State Government headed by a different party. In its next term in Delhi Municipal Corporation, Dr Jitendra Singh said, BJP would seek direct transfer of Central funds to the local bodies and ensure their equitable distribution among all the Wards. Cleanliness and availability of basic amenities will be the top priority of BJP led Corporation, he added.
Referring to the BJP Corporation election document released by the Party yesterday, Dr Jitendra Singh said, BJP led MCD is committed not to impose any further taxes on its citizens but to ensure optimum utilization of existing funds without allowing any pilferage or corrupt practices. He appealed for cent-percent voting to ensure a record victory for BJP in the history of MCD.
