JAMMU, July 21: A Deluxe Sulabh Toilet Complex constructed with an estimated sum of Rs 21 lakh was commissioned today at Rajinder Nagar, Ward Number 19, Jammu.
The Toilet Complex having 4 WC’s, 5 Baths, One Open Bathroom, 3 Urinals and One Care Taker Room was inaugurated by Avny Lavasa, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), who was the chief guest on the occasion.
Amit Gupta, Corporator, Ward Number 19, was also present. The Toilet Complex have been constructed and will be maintained by Sulabh International Social Service Organization on pay and use basis for 30 years.
Speaking on the occasion, Avny Lavasa, lauded the work done by Sulabh International Social Service Organization throughout India regarding sanitation services. She said that the long pending demand of the local people has been fulfilled with the commissioning of this Toilet Complex as there were no facilities of toilet and the people were forced to defecate in the open. The toilet facility is most essential during present COVID-19 times so that no one defecate in open, she added.
Ealier, Anil Kumar Singh, Honorary Controller, Sulabh International Social Service Organization J&K presented welcome address and gave brief report regarding sanitation activities being done by Sulabh International Social Service Organization throughout India.
Executive Engineer JMC, AEE JMC, JE JMC, local people, police officials and Sulabh volunteers were present on the occasion.
