JAMMU, Mar 16: Shri Rajmata Jhandewala Temples across North India and Jammu and Kashmir Unit of Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray said that demanding applications and other formalities for organizing free langer during Amarnath Yatra is not acceptable.
Parmadhyaksha of Shri Rajmata Jhandewala Temples across North India Rajeshwaranand Maharaj and J&K Shiv Sena President Manish Sahni held meeting and slammed the Government for increasing interfering at Hindu religious sites.
“Shri Amarnath Yatra Shrine Board has invited applications from langer organizers and asked other formalities, which have triggered the resentment among organizers,” they said.
Rajeshwaranand Maharaj said that most of the langars are organized on the basis of donation. “The recent instructions of the Government are aimed to curb the Hindu Langers,” he said, adding that the langars on the Shri Amarnath Yatra route not only make arrangements for food but also include free medicines store and lodging tents. But now their operation will become impossible under the new directions, he added.
Sahni said that the increasing interference of the Government in the langar service and new criteria have made the langer service almost impossible. He said that the organizations have been asked to submit the balance sheet of 2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21 along with the application. Apart from this, with the security drafts of Rs 10,000 have also been sought, he added.
Sahni said that even under adverse circumstances this Sangh Sevak continued their services but such interference will not be tolerated. He asked the Government to mend its ways as the Amarnath Yatra is linked with the sentiments of Hindu community. Government should not commercialise it by asking balance sheet and security for holding langers in such adverse locations.
Among others present were Ram Vohra, Sunny Sahni, Sudha and Ramesh Arora.
