JAMMU, June 19: Swami Mirzakak Trust (SMT) Hangalgund has appealed the district administration Anantnag to demarcate the land belonging to Hangla Devi Shrine and Swami Parkak Samadhi in Hangalgund village of Anantnag district so that the land is properly fenced to protect it from encroachment by land grabbers.
In a meeting of the Trust here, today its president, B L Hangoo and general secretary, A K Raina appealed the District Development Commissioner Anantnag to issue directives to concerned officers in this regard so that the construction work started by the Trust does not get hampered. The Trust also expressed its grave concern over harassment meted out to minority community councilor in Kokernag and demanded action against officers responsible for the same. It said on the one hand the Government was talking of return and rehabilitation of Pandits to Valley and on the other hand the elected public representatives of the community are subjected to humiliation and harassment by the authorities forcing them to leave the Valley.
