Democracy never allowed to thrive in J&K: Zaffar Manhas

SRINAGAR, Apr 25: Apni Party vice president and candidate for the Rajouri-Anantnag Parliamentary constituency, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas today said that the regional leaders and parties have consistently obstructed democracy and democratic institutions in Jammu and Kashmir, preventing its flourishing in the region.
He said that the leaders whom people trusted and followed established their family rule here, undermining both democratic principles and the trust of the populace.
Manhas made these comments while addressing gatherings at various places during his roadshow in Zainapora constituency today.
He said, “You should never fall prey to the deceptive narratives and emotional sloganeering by these traditional parties and leaders. They have been exploiting you for years and decades. They have never allowed real democracy to flourish here; instead, they have established their family rule over the years.”
Apni Party leader was warmly greeted by the people at various places. Besides the party functionaries, the enthused residents lined up along the way to greet their leader.
During his day-long political and public outreach activity, Manhas urged people to use the power of their vote to reject traditional parties and their leaders.
The roadshow was held through various villages and areas of the Zainapora constituency. These areas include Aglar, Darbag, Watchi, Safanagri, Zainapora, Reshipora, Chitragam, Hefkuri, Nagbal, Urpara, Hillow, Imamsahib and DK Pora.
The party leaders who accompanied Zaffar Iqbal Manhas during the roadshow, included Advocate Gowhar Wani,  DDC Nigeena, Party spokesperson and vice chairman of DDC Shopian Irfan Manhas, DDC Fazal Din, District secretary Adv Tanvir Tak, secretary Mushtaq Thoker, Block president Mushtaq Ahmad, Youth leader Faheem Hassan and others.
