JAMMU, Oct 24: Gujjar and Bakerwal State president Choudhary Nazakat Khatana has condemned the ill and merciless demolition of residential Kholas at Rajpura Mandi, Akhnoor Road Jammu today.
Addressing a press conference here Choudhary Khatana said, “More than 300 houshold lived in Kholas at Rajpura Mandi, Akhnoor Road Jammu where heavy demolition took place today. Many Kholas were put on fire by force due to heavy shelling & firing by the police.
In this forceful eviction, 10-15 residents from slum also got injured by teargas shelling and Lathi charge. One lady is serious having head injury. The injured residents include Kali, Manufa, Munni, Magho, Seema, Manju, Bhanu, Zaitoon, Sardar, Salama andd others. One pregnant lady namely Sarda was also injured. Others include Farid, Bashir who were hospitalized later to GMC hospital for treatment.
Those who were present in the press conference included Haji Ghulam Hussain, Ch. Rafaqat, Ch Sharif, Babu Gujjar, Ch Farid, Ch Rashid and others.
