Dengue cases on rise in J&K, 48 tested positive

JAMMU, Sept 5: Dengue cases continue to rise in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly this region, as 48 more people were tested positive for the infection today.
A Health Department official said that with 48 fresh cases reported today, the cumulative number of people affected with the viral infection has reached 576.
“With eight children and 40 adults tested positive for dengue today, highest 37 people from Jammu District, total 576 people have been reported positive for the vector-borne disease thus far in the UT,” he said.
According to him, highest 425 people from Jammu District have been tested positive thus far, followed by 57 patients from Kathua District, 44 from Samba, 11 from Udhampur, 10 from Rajouri, 8 each from Reasi and Poonch, 5 from Doda, one from Kishtwar, 4 from Kashmir, and 3 from outside the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
As far as admission details of the dengue patients is concerned, 178 patients have been admitted in different hospitals, 136 discharged, 3 went LAMA (Leave Against Medical Advice), 38 are under-treatment, and one has been declared as dead.
Highest 77 patients were reported positive for the dengue infection on September 2nd followed by 48 today, and 41 on September 4th.
