JAMMU, Nov 6: The Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Jammu hosted an induction programme, here today under the leadership of Professor Sangita Gupta.
The event brought together a diverse group of students and faculty members, marking the beginning of an exciting journey in the field of library and information science. The Induction Programme served as a warm and informative welcome for the new batch of students who have embarked on their academic journey at the Department of Library and Information Science.
Professor Sangita Gupta, head of the department, played a pivotal role in guiding the event, ensuring that it was a memorable and enlightening experience for all attendees. She emphasised the students about importance of their chosen field and the numerous opportunities it offers in today’s information-driven world.
Faculty members (Dr Meghna Dhar, Dr Pramod Kumar Singh, Dr Bindu, Ashwin Kushwaha, and Dr Reenu Arti) introduced themselves and provided an overview of the department’s academic programmes, research initiatives, and the unique learning environment that awaits the students.
Distinguished alumni ( Shashi Kant, former manager of J&K Bank, Dr Tarseem Sr Asst Librarian) and scholars shared their experiences and insights, offering valuable career guidance to the newcomers.
The Induction Programme was not only an educational experience but also an occasion to forge connections, inspire creativity and motivate students to pursue excellence in library and information science.
The whole session was moderated by Dr Meghna Dhar and the vote of thanks was presented by Ashwin Kumar Kushwaha.
