JAMMU, Sept 23: Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K Circle, Sangeeta Gupta will remain available in office even on holiday tomorrow to facilitate the assessees to avail the benefits of Income Declaration Scheme.
An official spokesman of the department said that decision has been taken keeping in view last few days of the scheme, which is closing on September 30. Principal Commissioner IT is the authority for accepting the declarations under Income Declaration Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir.
Moreover, to provide on spot clearance to the declarations made in manual form before her by the assessees from all parts of the State, her office will remain open up to late evening till September 30.
The department has made elaborate arrangement to handle the heavy inflow of queries relating to Income Declaration Scheme for which every assistance to the potential declarants is being provided by all the officers of the department at all the stations where the offices of the department are located, the spokesman said.
