JAMMU, Jan 20: A deputation of All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) lead by Prof Kalidass, General Secretary of the Union here today met Chairman National Commission for Backward Classes and submitted him a charter of demands including implementation of Mandal Report in the newly carved Union Territory of J&K.
Other demands included grant of 27 per cent reservation, reorganisation of the J&K Commission for Backward Classes with its Chairman and members from OBC communities, bringing National Commission for Backward Classes to J&K and ending of reservation on the name of backward areas and language.
The Chairman, Dr Bhagwan Lal Sahni assured the deputation for early redressal of all the issues raised.
Anchal Singh, Khursheed Ahmed, Mohd Anief, Darshan Mehra, Brij Mehra, Lal Chand, Jagdish Panday, Sonia Verma and M.R Bangotra were also present in the deputation.
