JAMMU, Jan 30: A deputation of Jammu Kashmir Government Pharmacists Association (JKGPA) Jammu led by Bharat Bhushan Bhagat, Association president along with Sushil Sudan, president JKMEF and Member Pharmacy Council of India and Sheikh Merajudin, Chairman Jammu Kashmir Government Pharmacists Association Kashmir met Health Minister, Sakeena Itoo and submitted a memorandum of demands.
The demands included change of nomenclature of Pharmacist to Pharmacy Officer.
Another demand was creation of one post of Technical Officer Pharmacy at all the District Hospitals and Sub District Hospitals.
The delegation also demanded filling up of vacant posts of pharmacists and regulation of Diploma, Degree in Pharmacy by Jammu Kashmir Pharmacy Council.
Delegation members said that a Board should be constituted to regulate Pharmacy Education and all the examination should be brought under the control of Jammu Kashmir Pharmacy Council instead of Jammu Kashmir Para-Medical Council.
More demands included creation of post of Block Pharmacy Officer and District Pharmacy Officer and Senior Pharmacist Post should be created at PHC and CHC level and post of Junior Pharmacist should be increased at NTPHC, CHC, SDH and District Level Hospital to meet public requirements and to provide best medical care to the patient.
Demand of restoration of RMP registration to all the retired pharmacists was also raised.
The Minister listened to the deputation and assured to look into the demands.
Surjeet Rajan, Tejinder Singh, publicity secretary JKMEF, Sahil, Vinod Kumar, Madan Lal Sharma, Bahadur Singh and others were also present in the deputation.
