JAMMU, Sept 20: J&K Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC-R), has cautioned the Government to desist from its unbundling move as it was not in the interest of the PDD employees and even the Jammu and Kashmir state.
In a meeting of the J&K Employees Joint Action Committee held under the chairmanship of Babu Hussain Mailk, the members expressed serious concern over the decision of the Government with regard to unbundling of the Power Development Department.
Babu Hussain while speaking on the occasion appealed the Governor Satya Pal Malik to review his decision regarding privatization of Power Department in Jammu and Kashmir. He proposed that Government should work for modernization and transparency in the PDD as Department has already achieved 100% target in Saubhagya Scheme launched by the Union Govt.
Hussain fully supported the 72-hours strike call given by the PDD employees from September 24. He alleged that there is no roadmap for the employees and their future/ fate. There is no transparency involved in the unbundling exercise and transition plan for more than 30,000 employees working in the PDD. Moreover, there is no policy planning for the daily wagers, who are mostly running the power supply system.
He cautioned the Government to review its decision otherwise, the EJAC consisting of employees various departments will also join the PDD employees in their proposed agitation/ strike.
Yashpal Sharma, Kulwant Singh, Hari Singh, Naresh Sharma, Munish and others also spoke on the occasion.
