Srinagar, Oct 30: The Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department today instructed the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir, and Jammu to detach staff assigned by HoDs and implement recent transfers and postings ordered by the Administrative Department.
These directions have been issued with regards to the rationalization of staff in the Health and Medical Education Department by the LG Manoj Sinha about which a compliance report has been sought.
“During the previous and today’s Lieutenant Governor’s ‘Mulaqaat,’ the Health and Medical Education Department was directed to rationalize staff in Health Institutions of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and detach all the staff attached by the HoDs from various sources at their own discretion,” H&ME stated in a letter issued to both directorates.
Based on the instructions of the authority, the H&ME letter stated that the Director of Health Services, Jammu, and the Director of Health Services, Kashmir, are instructed to detach all staff attached by the HoDs and implement the transfer/posting orders issued by the Administrative Department to rationalize the staff for the benefit of patient care.
“In this context, we kindly request that you provide the compliance report and a list of employees who have not complied with instructions/orders issued from time to time by November 1, 2023, before 12:00 noon for initiating disciplinary proceedings against them as warranted by the rules, without further notice,” the letter noted.
Officials who are privy to these developments have stated that there are numerous cases across districts in Kashmir where staff have been attached without any formal orders, and individuals posted in one location are performing their duties elsewhere, with authorities failing to take any action.
