Detention warrant of notorious criminal executed

JAMMU, July 27: The Jammu and Kashmir Police here in Satwari area claimed to have executed a detention warrant of a notorious criminal.
A police spokesperson said that Simranjot Singh of Chatha Pind, Satwari, had been involved in multiple criminal cases, displaying a history of violence with offenses including attempt to murder, extortion, snatching, stabbing, burglary, arson, and illegal possession of arms, earning him the title of a hardcore criminal of desperate character.
Acting on the received information, he said, special police teams from Police Station Satwari, led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma and assisted by SHO Satwari, Inspector Sumeet Sharma, today conducted a raid at the suspected location, successfully apprehending the accused.
A warrant of arrest was issued against the accused under order number 12 of 2023 dated July 25, 2023, which was executed today in accordance with provisions of section 8 (1) (a) of J&K Public Safety Act, 1978, leading to the confinement of the accused in Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu, added the police spokesperson.
