UDHAMPUR, Dec 23: Two adjoining houses were completely gutted in a devastating fire in Rasli Thakrai of Basantgarh Tehsil in Udhampur District, late last night.
However, no one was injured in the incident as all the family members managed to come out safely with the help of locals as soon as the fire broke out.
According to reports, wooden houses of Darshan Kumar and his brother Krishan Lal, sons of Dina Nath, caught fire and the blazes soon engulfed the entire complex. All the household items and other articles reduced to ashes in the devastating fire.
The fire tenders could not reach the spot to douse the flames as the area is non motorable.
The affected families, who have been shifted to neighboring house, said that they have suffered a loss of more than Rs 25 lakh.
