JAMMU, Oct 9: Sanjay Tickoo (Dembi) was elected unopposed as president of Devasthan Prabandhak Committee of Tehsil Bijbehara and Sirigufwara. Pran Nath Tickoo was elected unopposed as general secretary of the Committee and Virender Bhat was elected as treasurer.
This was announced by election incharge of the Committee, Kuldeep Bhan and Puneet Jyotshi here, today.
They said a notification to elect new body was issued on September 6, however, election was postponed twice in the past on the insistence of some senior members of the Committee and also owing to COVID-19 outbreak.
A revised schedule for filling nomination forms was extended till October 8.After the deadline was over the Election Commission constituted for the purpose received nominations for three posts of president, general secretary and treasurer from four members of the community. However, one member withdrew his nomination.
