DARHAL, Dec 13: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Minister for Forests, Mian Altaf Ahmed today reiterated his party’s commitment to development of the far-flung and remote areas, saying the constituencies like Darhal have suffered due to mis-representation during the past six years.
Addressing an impressive rally at Peedi, after a massive road show in favour of NC candidate from the constituency, Choudhary Liaqat Ali, the Forest Minister said that Darhal has not developed the way it should have because its genuine aspirations did not find adequate projection because of mis-representation.
‘Despite that the Omar led Government left no stone unturned to ensure upgradation of roads and improving the utility services during the past six years, the roads of the constituency are in pathetic condition,” the Minister said and urged the people to see for themselves how they were left in lurch by the chosen representative.
Mian Altaf decried the role of parties like PDP and BJP in dividing the society on regional and religious lines with ulterior motive of grabbing the power by hook or crook. On the contrary, he said NC believes in assuaging the political aspirations of the people and not in hollow sloganeering.
The Minister also referred to the achievements of the Omar led Government during the past six years and described the new administrative units as a revolutionary measure to take the administration at the door steps of the people. He also referred to the new administrative units sanctioned for Darhal Assembly Constituency.
Mian Altaf urged the people to vote for Choudhary Liaqat Ali in a big way.
State vice president, Rattan Lal Gupta and contesting candidate from Darhal constituency, Choudhary Liaqat Ali also spoke on the occasion.
