RAJOURI, Sept 11: In order to boost the morale of the people living in the far off border areas of Rajouri, BJP senior leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta today conducted an extensive tour of various border villages.
During this tour, the MLC was accompanied by former minister and senior BJP leader Choudhary Talib Hussain and other prominent leaders of the area. The MLC along with other leaders, also addressed a public rally at Namblan village.
In his address Vibodh appreciated the role of people living in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch. He said that in the present scenario, the people of these border villages are standing by their nation in the same way as they have been doing in the past. “The people of these areas, despite having various problems, are patriotic Indians and next to the Indian Army having e a very prominent role in safeguarding our borders from enemy,” he said .
In his address, senior BJP leader and former MP Choudhary Talib Hussain said that people living in the borders of Rajouri and Poonch have stood by their nation in the time of crisis. Giving details about the BADP (Border Area Developmental Programme), Choudhary Talib said that many works under this programme are already going and more funds should be provided to the border villages for various welfare schemes.
He also called upon the State and Central Governments to start a special recruitment drive in para military forces for the people living in the border areas. This, he said, will help in tackling the unemployment problem on one hand and on the other hand will be useful in maintaining peace in the region.
Other prominent leaders present on the occasion, included Advocate Asif, Bashir Bhat, Bodh Raj, Choudhary Ismaiel Anees, Moulvi Nazir, Fateh Mohd and Dr Makhan.
