RAMNAGAR/MAJALTA, Dec 26: On his maiden visit to Ramnagar, R S Pathania was accorded a historic reception by the people. Right from Roun Domel to Ramnagar and Manwal to Balpur, a cavalcade of as many as 500-odd cars and scooters/motorcycles had bee-lined to receive the son of the soil.
Pathania was taken in an open gypsy amidst deafening renting of heart-rending slogans, “Narendra Modi zindabad, Bhartiya Janta Party zindabad, R S Pathania zindabad”, beating of drums and bursting of crackers.
The car-rally after passing through Manwal, Battal, Baryalta and other villages enroute, culminated at Panchayat Ghar, Majalta, where a colourful cultural programme had been organised. Local folk singers, dressed in characteristic attires, mesmerized the virtual sea of people having assembled over there by their folk numbers and traditional dances.
While addressing the local people having assembled there, Pathania said that he is humbled by the overwhelming mandate given by the people of Ramnagar who have rejected money, muscle power and caste-based politics over here. He further said that BJP believes in equitable development of all the three regions and peace and tranquility all-over. He vowed to work for good governance, transparent and responsive administration, uninterrupted power supply, hygienic water supply, improved road connectivity and better educational, health, animal care and recreational facilities in the area.
Among others who accompanied him included Sham Lal, Mandal Pradhan Ramnagar, Bishan Das, Mandal Pradhan Majalta, Sorav Gupta, Mandal Pradhan Basantgarh, Rajinder Sharma, Capt Gopal Singh, Gopal Dass, Mohan Lal Advocate, Amit Sharma, Rakesh Kumar, Virinder Singh, B D Gupta and a wide galaxy of local leaders.
