Development only mantra of Cong party: Shabir

RAJOURI, Oct 20: Former Minister and MLA Rajouri, Shabir Ahmed Khan has said that development is the only mantra of the Congress Party and it would go to the people again during coming elections on its development agenda.
Addressing public gathering at Thandikassi today, where new Niabat has been sanctioned by Government few days back, the Congress legislator said that the over all development is the only motto of  the Congress party.  He said that the Congress  is committed  to address the pro-public issues  and shall fight for the genuine cause of the welfare of the public.
Mr Khan, who was accorded warm reception by the people of the area with the creation of new administrative unit there said that it was the long pending demand of the people which was addressed now. He claimed that new unit created in the area will reduce the gap between the Government and the public.  The MLA congratulated the   people of Rajouri for their struggle and support for the creation of new units in Rajouri.  Khan said that the up-gradation of the health institutions to the level of new type PHCs and sanctioning of 70 sub-centres in Rajouri district got its nod with the support of Congress high command during its tenure. He said if the Congress comes to power again in the State, the dreams of the people would come into reality. The MLA lauded the efforts of Ghulam Nabi Azad for ensuring tremendous development in the State during his term as Chief Minister.
The Congress leader,  at the same time cautioned the people against the communal and divisive forces which are exploiting people for getting political benefits. He said every attempt of such organizations would be thwarted.  He alleged that BJP and PDP always tried to play with the sentiments of the people for getting political mileage. The MLA asked the people to defeat the designs of such forces and give them an appropriate reply.
Prominent among those present in the function included Sarpanch Karamat Sheikh, Sain Abdul Rashid district president, Sarpanch Raj Kumar, Qayoom Sheikh, Sarfraz Ahmed, Sushil Sharma, Sarpanch Yash Pal and others.
