Development of border areas Govt’s priority: Chib

JAMMU, MAY 13: Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education R. S. Chib today said that development of border areas, especially those along the Indo-Pak border are being given focused attention for enhanced development, as per the commitment of the Coalition Government.
Addressing a series of public gatherings at Talhar, Biaspur-Parlah, Mulochak and Sher-i-Chak in R. S. Pura, the Minister said infrastructural development, implementation of welfare schemes and upgradation of health services and education are gaining momentum. He sought public cooperation in gearing up these further.
Spelling out measures being initiated for development of these areas, Mr Chib said  that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has issued specific instructions to all concerned to pay special attention on development of such   pockets that have not received desired attention in the past so that the mission of equitable development of all the areas is achieved.
“Though three years  in office is a brief span for any Government yet the achievements stand testimony to the fact that sincerity of purpose and single mindedness can  be instrumental in dispensing responsive and accountable governance”, he said, adding that Omar Abdullah proved beyond any doubt that he can lead the State to new heights of peace and prosperity.
The Minister announced Rs. 3 lakh for construction of two cremation grounds, one each at Parlah and Biaspur, besides assuring four additional rooms in the Government High School Biaspur Parlah. He also announced opening of two sewing centres for Biaspur and Parlah.
Responding to locals’ demands, the Minister directed PDD to immediately replace conductors wherever necessary in these areas. He also assured the people that the issues of construction of additional rooms in Middle School Tarlah, upgradation of MS Tarlah to HS and upgradation of Primary school Molluchak will be taken up at the appropriate forum for early redressal.
