Development of border, hilly areas priority of Govt: Shabir

RAJOURI, Nov 27:  Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmad Khan today said that providing improved basic facilities beside all-round development under core sectors in border and hilly areas was the priority of the Government, adding that in this regard innovative initiatives taken by the Government during last 5 years have yielded tangible results in these areas.
Addressing a public meeting at border village Mongalnar in Rajouri, the Minister reiterated the commitment of the Government towards ensuring holistic development of all the regions of the State with special focus on far off and border areas. He said that Government’s pro-people policies and exemplary initiatives have marched the State on the track of peace and prosperity. He affirmed that this mission would be carried forward with greater zeal.
Shabir said that people pin their hopes with public representatives and asked Panchs and Sarpanchs to work sincerely for welfare and development of the people.
He assured the people that all their genuine developmental needs would be considered and carried out in a phased manner.
Responding to the demands of the locals, the Minister said that due consideration is being given for promotion of agriculture, horticulture and other production sectors in the area. He said focused attention was being also paid to upgrade education, health, power, drinking water and road connectivity facilities especially in far off areas of the constituency.
