RAJOURI May 20: Development of far flung and neglected border areas is getting top priority in J&K and LG administration is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the sustainable and equitable development of our border areas. These remarks were made by BJP J&K general secretary and former MLC, Vibodh Gupta today while addressing a gathering at remote border village Khankhari in Rajouri. Vibodh was accompanied by PWD officials and local residents. He also kick started the work on the much needed road from Khankhari to Chamba Dala.
Addressing the gathering, Vibodh appreciated the LG administration for sincere and dedicated efforts towards removing the miseries of the poor and marginalised communities in the border areas of Rajouri and Poonch. He further added that the Central Government under the leadership of PM Modi accords top priority to the development of border areas. He said that the people living along the border areas of the country are real warriors and along with the Indian Army they ensure the safety and security of the country.
Giving specific details about various road projects being implemented in the border belt of Rajouri and Poonch, Vibodh said that once completed these roads will go a long way in the overall development of neglected border areas.
The meeting was also addressed by Rajinder Gupta, district president, BJP Rajouri who informed that besides infrastructure development activities, the Central Government has launched various people’s welfare schemes specially for the people of border areas. He called upon every one present in the gathering to ensure that people get benefitted from these schemes.
Local Sarpanch Abdul Hussain complimented Vibodh Gupta and other senior BJP leaders for their visit to the area and for their regular support in ensuring that developmental projects are properly implemented in this border belt.
The locals also raised their various issues and highlighted the various problems being faced by the people of this border belt. In response to these problems Vibodh assured that he will raise these issues with concerned authorities for their early resolution.
