Development projects

Sir,
Refer article ‘No land for Jammu’s Development Projects’ DE Sunday Magazine April 29.
The author deserves appreciation for highlighting one of the main causes behind the slow pace of progress on developmental works to be executed in Jammu region.
There may be other reasons like lack of political will, financial crunch and bureaucratic apathy behind the slow execution of works but non availability of land should not become an execuse.
The Government should without wait reclaim the Government land under illegal occupation of land mafia and other anti-social elements and allot the same for developmental works. The Central Government has already allotted a whopping amount of Rs. 80,000 cr to the State for this purpose, a substantial portion of which has remained unutilised so far.
The Government must create conditions in all the three regions of the State to use this amount before the term of the Government comes to end. It will be a great loss to the State people, if the proposed works are not executed well in time. The State has to catch up with  other states of the Country that have made tremendous progress in almost all spheres of the State. Hope the new dispensation will realise the gravity of situation and dedicates itself for the cause of people.
Yours etc…
