UDHAMPUR, Apr 15: A mega Cultural Programme was today organised on the second day of the Historic Devika Baisakhi Mela being held on the bank of holy rivulet in Udhampur town.
The program was hosted by the Department of Information and Public Relations Centre, Udhampur. Functional Managers, District Industries and Commerce, Deepika Sharma and Roopali Jasrotia were the guests of honour on the occasion.
A large number of people belonging to all walks of life witnessed the cultural bonanza and got acquainted with Dogri music, folk dance presented by Local Artists of Udhampur District, including Ashok Hans and Party. The musical presentation was highly appreciated by one and all with repeated rounds of applause.
During the programme, Spell bound performances were also presented by the students of Government College of Women which mesmerized the audiences.
Thousands from within and outside the district thronged Baisakhi mela and took holy dip in the pious Devika Ghat on its second day also.
The temporary stalls of sweets, toys and accessories witnessed a huge rush of people on the second day of Devika Baisakhi Mela.
The programme was attended by District Information Officer, Rajinder Kumar Digra; Assistant Information Officer, Jiwan Singh, besides other officials of information department, including Rajesh Gupta, Amit Kumar, Mohinder Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Vijay Kumar and a large number of prominent citizens.
