DF & Shiv Sena warns 48 hour bandh

JAMMU, Sept 16: Dogra  Front and Shiv Sena Jammu & Kashmir under the leadership of president Ashok Gupta has called for bandh  of 48 hours on Saturday and Sunday if the sugar quota of the people which has been pending for past 4 months with the CAPD is not supplied within 4 days.
The DF and SS took out a procession from the main bazzars of Jammu  against the non availability of sugar in the State for past 4 months after the order of the Central Govt to procure Sugar on State level, so that to avoid heavy losses on account of Octroi/carriage. He further said that order was passed for all the states to procure sugar on state level. “Delhi, Punjab, Haryana have implemented the order and have started giving sugar to the people but on the contrary the Government of J&K is still in the process of forming the committee on the passed order,” he added.
By taking cooking utensils in their hands the protestors demanded that Government should ensure the adequate supply of ration, sugar, Atta, rice, kerosene in the Government ration depots.
Ashok Gupta gave 48 hrs time to the Government for supplying sugar in the Govt ration depots of the Jammu region. He alleged that sugar is being supplied in the Valley on the Govt ration depots but till date no sugar has been supplied to the ration depots of the Jammu region.
