Srinagar, Apr 23:  Democratic Freedom Party president, Shabir Ahmad Shah, today distanced itself from messages being circulated through social media and posters published against Sikh and other minority  communities across Valley, and particularly in Jammu region.
In a statement issued here today, DFP said that some unknown agencies and miscreants are hell bent upon to malign the DFP by resorting to such means.
“These elements can never succeed in their cheap and nefarious designs of creating wedge between Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs,” a DFP spokesman said.
The statement said that the minorities are very well aware of the stand of DFP chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah in their regard and it is nothing but the handiwork of agencies and communal elements. He said that this provoking stuff is being circulated and posted on social networking sites against minority community to thwart the proposed Jammu visit of its party President Shabir Ahmad Shah.
The DFP spokesperson said that last month similar message was circulated in press and social media and we took prompt action and an FIR was lodged in Police Station Srinagar against those involved and some miscreants were arrested by police in this behalf.
